Introduction to Spotlight

Spotlight spotlight refers to the light gathered by using a condenser lens or a reflector. The point light type of the reflector lamp is relatively simple. For super close-up photography, using a microscope lighting device or a slide projector for lighting can obtain better point light lighting. The lamp with strong illumination, narrow illumination, and convenient to concentrate on a specific area in the scene is the most widely used lamp in the studio. Spotlights can cast highly directional beams. It produces very bright highlights and sharp, dark shadows. With only a few spotlights you can create a moving dramatic effect. But in most cases, people always use floodlights and spotlights comprehensively, which can not only ensure the overall soft lighting, but also make the strong light area clear, clear and bright.



1. In terms of function, spotlights can be divided into:
Target spotlight: Target Spotlights (target spotlight): is a projected light. It can affect objects within the beam, producing shadows and special effects.
Free Spotlight: Free Spotlight (Free Spotlight): It is a spotlight without a target. Mainly used to set up lights on animation paths, or as a child object attached to another object.
2. From the point of view of operation. Spotlights are divided into:
Manual spotlight: manual manipulation, more flexible
Rod-controlled spotlights: various specifications of spotlights can be added with rod-controlled actions, so that the lamps can perform horizontal, pitch, and focus actions at high altitudes without lowering them. It is an ideal lamp type among manual lamps in the studio.
Mechanized spotlight: spotlights of various specifications can be added with various mechanical actions such as leveling, pitching, focusing, and door movement. The degree of mechanization is high and the noise is low. The mechanical part can be divided into three actions, five actions, seven actions, and eight actions for users to choose . It is an indispensable lamp in mechanized studio.
The light spread angle of the spotlight must not exceed 120 degrees, otherwise the light will not be the effect of the spotlight. The light show angle of the spotlight is best chosen below 90 degrees. The blur value of the light shadow is generally adjusted to 8.
